Tactical Galactical is a Console-Friendly, Card-Based RTS Game

The RTS genre is full of similar features and common trends. And then there’s Tactical Galactical, a sillier card-based RTS made specifically for consoles.

Developed by Dangen Studios, Tactical Galactical is a 3D RTS game based on the sci-fi retro-futurism of the ’80s. With a hex-shaped selection system, the game is specifically designed to be comfortable to play with a controller.

The game uses a card system for building an army. Similar to competitive trading card games like Magic The Gathering, the player collects a variety of different cards representing various soldiers, machines, and other battle units.

Players can choose one of three “factions,” represented by three trope-heavy leaders: Delores the Invincible, Zubair the Cunning, and Mikhail the Brave. Each faction has unique cards within its deck. The game features both single-player and multiplayer game modes.

Tactical Galactical will release some time in 2020 for both Steam PC, as well as Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and even Nintendo Switch.
