Ancestors Legacy Coming to PS4, Xbox One This Summer

Ancestors Legacy, the medieval RTS by Destructive Creations, is expanding beyond its PC platform and onto the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One this summer.

The developers recently announced a partnership with Slipgate Ironworks to port the game onto the PlayStation 4, while also offering a release window for both this and the Xbox One version of the game (this summer). The PS4 version will be self-published, while the Xbox One version will be published under 1C Entertainment.

The announcement was also made alongside the launch of their latest PC DLC: Saladin’s Quest. This $10.99 expansion adds a full new single player campaign (5 missions), a new nation in both single and multiplayer and 3 new multiplayer maps, all based around an Arabian theme. You might want to hold off on buying it, however. User reviews for it are pretty low.

For those unfamiliar to the game, Ancestors Legacy is a historical RTS centered around the Middle Ages. Rendered in the Unreal 4 Engine, players manage resources and strategize battle tactics to maintain control of the battlefield. It offers a variety of cultures and races to play as and against, such as German, Viking, and Anglo-Saxon. One of it’s better features is the ability to enter a cinematic mode, which lets you watch the battlefield from the near-surface in high quality.

If you don’t feel like waiting, you can get Ancestors Legacy on Steam PC for $34.99. It’s on sale for 50% off at the time of writing this, making it $17.49.
